The purpose of this blending learning award is to enable the learner to develop the relevant knowledge, skill and competence in a broad range of personal skills which enable personal development and active citizenship, and progression to employment, or further education or training. Students may be given the opportunity to progress onto our Level 5 QQI College Access Programme if criteria is met.
Students must complete a minimum of 9 modules to achieve the 90 credits for QQI level 4 major award.
To access programmes leading to this award the learner should have reached the standards of knowledge, skill and competence associated with the preceding level of the National Framework of Qualifications. This may have been achieved through a formal qualification or through relevant life and work experience.
Achievement of this award will enable the learner to progress to other appropriate programmes leading to awards at the next or higher levels of the National Framework of Qualifications.
Various assessment techniques will be used such as skills demonstrations, project work, collection of work and examinations.

Students must of completed a Junior Certificate or QQI Level 3 Major Award in order to gain access into this course. Upon entry potential students are interviewed, assessed and complete a two week induction to ensure suitability within this learning environment.
This programme is focused on both academic and social development, while preparing students to progress to QQI level 4 or for employment.

This programme prepares students to progress within employment or continue within the educational system to third level or into an apprenticeship.
